This is a website about the Summerfield and Vandall families of West Virginia. These two families merged when Seth Milton Summerfield, Jr. married Beulah DeEtta Vandall on April 3, 1932 at Gatewood, WV.
Their descendants now spread across Virginia, South Carolina, Montana, and Wyoming. Captured here are special memories, historical information, and valued treasures from the many generations who preceded our present day family. We record our treasures here so they may live on for the enjoyment of many generations to come.
Special Note to Family Members
YOU are the only person alive who has YOUR memories. Other people want to know about them, now and even more so in the future. Don't take them with you when you go. I am encouraging you (begging, pleading) to write your memories down and send them to me [bsummerf(at)gmail.com] for inclusion on this website. Send them in rough form if you have to. That's better than not at all. I can polish them up and make them into a story everyone will appreciate. Audio and video files are also acceptable if you don't like to write!
How You Can Participate in this Family Website
This is not just my website, this is our family's website. You can participate, and I hope you will. That includes brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. In other words, EVERYONE in this great extended family. Here are things you can do on this website.
